ActiveLearn Institute (AL-I) ApplicationThe ActiveLearn Institute (AL-I) is a professional development opportunity designed to introduce faculty to the core principles and practical strategies of active learning. Led by Dr. Sandi Connelly (Associate Director, CTL and Faculty, College of Science) and the CTL team, this institute supports faculty in enhancing their teaching through small but impactful changes.
Over the course of five in-person sessions, participants will explore interactive teaching methods, engage in hands-on activities, and develop their own active learning strategies. The institute is designed for faculty who are new to active learning, providing a supportive space to build confidence, foster creativity, and encourage cross-disciplinary dialogue.
Throughout the program, participants will draft and refine active learning activities for their upcoming courses, culminating in a final showcase of their work. A stipend is provided for participation.
We invite faculty who are eager to explore active learning and make meaningful improvements to their teaching to apply.
