A teaching circle is a small group of teachers who meet regularly on-campus and/or via Zoom to discuss a specific teaching and learning topic. Facilitators may pre-schedule meetings or poll interested participants on their availability. Circles typically meet for a 60 or 90 minutes 4-7 times over a semester..
The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is seeking RIT faculty and other instructors of record (e.g., adjuncts, postdocs, GTAs) who are interested in proposing a topic and facilitating a teaching circle in Fall semester 2025. Visit our website to learn more about teaching circles; see especially the list of previously offered circles at the bottom of the page. If you have questions, contact Michael Starenko, Senior Teaching and Learning Consultant.
Please submit your proposal as early as possible but no later than August 8, 2025. Applicants will be notified of their status on a rolling basis, or by August 12.
CTL will begin announcing the roster of Fall teaching circle facilitators and topics to the RIT community during the week of August 19-22. Interested participants will be strongly encouraged to contact facilitator(s) as early as possible but no later than September 3, 2025. Circles usually hold their first meeting during Week 3 or 4 of the semester.
